The stages of a conversion. Every stage before delivery can still be stopped, held for review, or refunded.

Stage
Quote and confirmation
What is happening
You are shown a rate and the fees, and you confirm. The rate is locked at this point.
Can it still be stopped?
Yes. Nothing has moved. A quote you do not confirm simply lapses.
Stage
Verification and compliance
What is happening
Identity and compliance checks run where they are required for your transaction.
Can it still be stopped?
Yes. A transaction may be held or declined at this stage.
Stage
Payment
What is happening
Your payment is collected through the payment channel you chose, such as M-Pesa.
Can it still be stopped?
Yes. If the conversion does not proceed after this point, your money is returned.
Stage
Execution
What is happening
The conversion is executed against the locked rate, subject to the tolerance check in section 5.
Can it still be stopped?
Yes. If the market has moved beyond tolerance the order is cancelled and refunded rather than settled.
Stage
Delivery
What is happening
Bitcoin is sent to the destination address you gave, or Kenya Shillings are paid out to the account you gave.
Can it still be stopped?
No, once broadcast. See the notice above.
Stage
Completed
What is happening
The transaction has settled and the record is retained under section 9.
Can it still be stopped?
No.
